    Job Description:

    Treasure Coast Shellfish, LLC is in its fourth year of business & is a woman-owned & operated oyster farm based in Sebastian, FL. We have a small nursery system & a 6.5-acre water column lease where we are currently in the process of expanding & installing floating more gear. The TCS farm is located on the Indian River Lagoon, the most bio-diverse estuary in North America, Treasure Coast Shellfish raises eastern oysters (Crassostrea virginica) as part of the growing oyster aquaculture industry on the East Coast of Florida. This past year we have more than doubled in size using about 40% of our acreage and have about 500 floating cages and planted 1,300,000 oyster seeds in 2025. https://www.treasurecoastshellfish.com/

    We are looking for curious, energetic, & self-motivated individuals who want to learn about the oyster aquaculture industry – particularly the farming process. The company is dedicated to sustainable shellfish farming, utilizing the most innovative growing techniques. Both full-time and part-time/seasonal opportunities are available. Those candidates selected will learn all aspects of working on an oyster farm & in our processing facility.

    Job Requirements:

    • Must be organized, punctual, & on time for work.

    • Must have a valid driver’s license & reliable transportation to work sites in Indian River, St. Lucie, & Martin counties.

    • Must be capable of understanding & following instructions from the supervisor.

    • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions – wet, cold, hot, dry, & rough water, at various times of the day, including early morning hours, evenings, & weekends when necessary.

    • 40-45 hours per work week. Times and days are variable.

    • Must be able to swim.

    • Must be comfortable being in water where you cannot see or touch the bottom.

    • Must be comfortable on a boat for 8-10 hours a day.

    • Must be physically able to lift, push, & pull up to 60 pounds.

    • Must maintain work area(s) & be respectful of neighboring communities & businesses.

    Job Description:
    The focus of the TCS Assistant Farm Manager will be to assist the Farm Manager in overseeing crews & managing all life cycles oysters & clams from seeding to harvest. This is an on-site assistant management position which requires attendance on any tide day or night year-round. This position will require 45-60 hours per week. The position is based in Sebastian, FL.

    Areas of Responsibility:

    • Educating the crews on rules, policies, safety procedures & Hazard analysis & critical control points (HACCP) practices.

    • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a crew of 2-6 individuals.

    • Aid in managing labor for quality of work & efficiency to ensure crops are planted, maintained, & harvested effectively.

    • Farming & harvesting tasks include (but are not limited to) predator control & protection, & projecting & harvesting in an efficient & systematic manner.

    • Keeping farm data records from seeding to harvest.

    • Assist the farm manager in coordinating crews & equipment to maximize equipment & personnel utilization.

    • Ensure farm equipment is well maintained & cared for.

    • Recordkeeping for crews will be required.

    • Advise Farm Manager on crops and farm management. This includes species grown, crop rotation, farming practices, inventorying, and harvest techniques.

    • Work with Senior Leadership team and Farm Manager to forecast and schedule crops for the farm, culling, packing, and shipping departments.

    • Work with the Executive Team and Farm Manager to develop and facilitate the success of new policy/ technology implementation.

    Job Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • AIS is looking for a Fisheries Biologist to support the collection and analysis of habitat data as well as develop and implement salmon life cycle models for restoration planning in support of NOAAs Fish Ecology Division (FED) at that Northwest Fisheries Science Center. The FED conducts scientific research on threatened and endangered salmon populations in the Pacific Northwest, including watershed assessments to aid in restoration planning and habitat monitoring to meet NMFS statutory obligations under the Endangered Species Act. Duties/Responsibilities: Collect salmon habitat monitoring data in nearshore, estuarine, and riverine ecosystems. Utilize remote sensing techniques or field methods. Perform quantitative and spatial analysis of fish, habitat and existing data sets. Digitize aerial imagery-derived or field data on freshwater and nearshore habitats and/or fish. Develop salmon life cycle models. Produce technical reports, data and analysis protocols, and peer-reviewed journal manuscripts. Compensation: Candidates will be paid an hourly rate to be negotiated, and total compensation will vary depending on candidates' availability. This is a full-time position.     Requirements:

  • The Coral Restoration Technician performs and participates in coral restoration operations including the maintenance, management, development and coordination of restoration programs. The Coral Restoration Technician (CRT) leads and participates in work teams to ensure the coordination, community support and implementation of restoration plans. The CRT implements restoration activities, collects and manages data, maintains supplies and equipment, and coordinates fieldwork with TNC staff, volunteers, partners, and communities. May work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain, with hazardous materials and under physically demanding circumstances. This position is located in West Hawai‘i, Hawai‘i Island. This is a fixed-term position through September 30, 2027. (Possibility of extension is based on future funding availability.)

    What You’ll Bring:

    • AA/AS degree in marine science-related field and 5-year related experience in coral reef conservation, science, restoration, marine fieldwork or similar field (or equivalent combination of education and experience, such as BA/BS and 3 years of experience, etc.).

    • Experience working underwater on SCUBA

    • Experience working from small vessels

    • Experience with reef systems.

    • Experience in marine monitoring, research, ecology, and/or management principles.

    Salary Information:

    The starting annual salary for this position is within the range of $61,300 – $64,980. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA and is based out of the Kailua-Kona TNC office. Where a successful candidate’s pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including location, qualifications, skills, and experience.   • The Internal Communications and Employee Engagement (IC&EE) Specialist leads, manages, and executes internal communications and employee engagement strategies and tactics for The Nature Conservancy’s 300+ staff Marketing and Communications (MAC) business unit, and on behalf of the Chief Marketing and Communications Officer.

    The IC&EE Specialist is responsible for ensuring that MAC staff are informed about and engaged in the MAC strategy and priorities, as well as the key priorities of The Nature Conservancy. They lead the strategic development and tactical execution of the internal communications and employee engagement strategy and annual plans.     Salary Information:

  • The Maine Aquaculture Association (MAA), is a nonprofit trade association that advocates for the state’s aquatic farmers. Our members grow fish, shellfish, and sea vegetables using a variety of methods. Our infrastructure members provide goods and services to the sector. MAA focuses on farmer training, business support, working waterfront advocacy, public outreach and education, and the development of innovative and proactive best management practices. MAA is seeking to fill a position that works to build capacity for the organization and strengthen the Maine aquaculture community through creative storytelling, community outreach, and farmer engagement.

    Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communications and Development Specialist will perform the following duties:

    Actively work to build strategic relationships within Maine’s coastal community, including but not limited to aquaculture stakeholders, coastal residents, elected officials, and the commercial fishing community

    Field membership inquiries and actively recruit new members; lead and optimize the membership onboarding process in collaboration with the Office Manager and Executive Director.

    Administer services to members that align with their needs and membership level.

    Develop new educational materials and conduct outreach activities in collaboration with the Community Engagement Coordinator and Executive Director.

    Plan and host events to engage the public and stakeholders and promote the aquaculture industry

    Collaborate with other Maine agencies and organizations to achieve our communications goals

    Draft grant proposals and budgets to fund communications & outreach projects

    Undertake special projects and duties as necessary in cooperation with staff, including working our annual fundraiser event, The Big E! in West Springfield, Massachusetts in addition to other various festivals and fairs throughout the year.

    Keep track of work activities and outcomes; prepare end of year reports to funding agencies in collaboration with staff.

    A successful candidate will have the following qualifications and attributes:

    • 1-3 years experience working in sales, communications, marketing, or membership organizations

    • Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, communications, or related field

    • Experience planning and executing in-person events, digital marketing campaigns, and community outreach activities

    • Customer service experience and/or strong interpersonal skills

    • Organized, detail-oriented, professional, energetic, and diligent

    • Highly motivated self-starter with a strong ability to generate creative solutions

    • Willingness to learn from and contribute to a dynamic, mission-driven team

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Skills and experience working in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Wordpress and all major social media platforms in a professional capacity

    • Excited about supporting and working alongside Maine’s aquaculture producers and broader seafood community

    • Ability to travel somewhat frequently, primarily within Maine is expected

    • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends for events

    • Comfortable spending time on the ocean in boats, on docks, etc.

    • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs

    • Preferred but not required:

    • Experience campaigning, grassroots organizing and/or community building

    • Experience in seafood, aquaculture/fisheries, marine biology or related field

    • Knowledge of aquaculture industry

    Salary range: Starting at $55K annually, commensurate with experience

    3. Must obtain within four (4) weeks of hire an AAUS certification.
