about the event

Hosted by Minorities In Aquaculture and Lift All Boats, the Community Table began as a simple gathering during our annual internship trip to Maine. What started as an opportunity to introduce interns to New England's seafood community has grown into a cherished tradition that brings together people from across aquaculture and commercial fishing to share stories, strengthen connections, and celebrate the people who keep our working waterfronts thriving

This isn’t a catered event. The community table is built by us, for us. Seafood producers, fisherpeople, farmers, organizations, students, and supporters all play a role in bringing the evening to life, whether that's through sharing seafood, contributing resources, or simply pulling up a chair and joining the conversation.

At the end of the day, this event is about community. It's about creating a space where everyone feels welcome, where relationships are built across generations and sectors, and where we can come together to support a stronger future for New England seafood.

We're inviting businesses, farms, seafood producers, beverage makers, and community partners to help bring this gathering to life. Contributions of any size are deeply appreciated, whether through financial support, product donations, or partial sponsorships.

Thank you for helping us create an evening that reflects all of us!

Lift All Boats is a Maine-based nonprofit mentorship program that connects students who may not have traditional access to the working waterfront with hands-on experience in the lobster industry. Through paid summer mentorships, students spend time on the water and the docks learning from experienced lobstermen, gaining practical skills, industry knowledge, and a deeper connection to Maine’s coastal heritage. Since launching in 2022, the program has provided more than 40 students with meaningful opportunities to explore careers in Maine’s fishing communities
